Check below for latest Lacrosse news!President's Message 2005Lacrosse is a great game - made successful by great people. This statement comes from our organization’s founder, Kevin Broadworth - and if you need any proof that he is right, you only need to look at the Broadworth Family. Kevin, Anne, Ray, Taylor and Cori are great people and they have made Lacrosse a great game in Brockville. The Broadworth family is moving on to another fortunate City and will be sorely missed by us all here in Brockville. In our third season last year we once again earned some great achievements. In the Provincial Championships, our PeeWee team was able to go four games in double elimination while both our Bantam and Midget teams brought home Silver Medals - congratulations to all! Another success was our new Tyke division. These kids were graduates of our Mini-Blaster program started last year. A Rep team was thrown together for a tournament in Cornwall and these boys and girls ROCKED. Just like the PeeWee team at this Tournament, the Tykes brought home a Silver Medal! House League also was very successful again this year. In addition to the new Tykes, we once again had Novice, PeeWee, Bantam and Midget divisions. The level of play the Coaches and Players are bringing to the game in this city is both inspiring and satisfying. With some of these kids entering their fourth year of lacrosse with the Brockville Blast, the game just keeps reaching new heights for us here in Brockville. This fall, eleven players from our Organization tried out for - and made - Field Lacrosse teams in Ottawa. The playing seasons of these two styles of Lacrosse are purposely offset so that both can be coached and played without overlapping. Field Lacrosse is played almost worldwide now and our Canadian style of Box Lacrosse is growing World Wide as well. This game called Lacrosse is the FASTEST GROWING sport in the world right now. Because of this growth, Lacrosse Scholarships are considered to be one of the most attainable University Sports Scholarships, helping many talented athletes to achieve a University education. Because players from as close as Ottawa are "tearing up the grass" at American Universities, the scouts are now flocking to Canada. Although Lacrosse may be considered "new" to Brockville, it’s actually a very old sport. Make it what you want: a great way to have fun and meet people , learn teamwork and push yourself to your limits or to go all the way and help you achieve your dreams.
